When Mr Oosthuysen, Headmaster of St Benedict’s College informed me that I would be directing a musical production that combines the talents drawn from three schools three questions arose, two of which were “what on earth am I going to do?” and “how on earth am I going to do it?”. However, it was not long before I revisited a fundamental truth that the only way that a successful production could be achieved would be if I replaced the ‘I’ in my questions with ‘we’: the fundamental truth that in an educational environment success depends on the efforts of all stakeholders, namely the parents; the learners and the staff. 
The successful production of Footloose is a result of the support from all parents; staff and learners involved. All the boards and staff of all three schools were very, giving of their time and expertise- In particular, the following people went beyond the call of duty.

The third question I asked “Why on earth are we doing this” … yes it is part of our job … but the real unfaltering motivation for why we do this is because
we create together. We share talents and souls. We pushed ourselves beyond ourselves … and believed that we could surmount what seemed insurmountable to soar beyond our potential and create limitless possibilities. The production was a huge success!
