Mr Brendan Quinn has been appointed Headmaster of St Benedict's Preparatory School from January 2019.

Mr Quinn is an accomplished English and Mathematics teacher who is currently studying towards his BEd (Hons) Degree in Educational Management. Mr Quinn joins us from Dainfern college after a six-year tenure where he was first Deputy then Headmaster of Dainfern Preparatory School. Prior to Dainfern, Mr Quinn gained invaluable experience in a Head of Department post at the Ridge Preparatory School.

In addition to his leadership and management roles, Mr Quinn’s focus is firmly on academics. He is well-versed in the integration of critical thinking skills within the curriculum and will, we believe, be able to sustain the momentum and continue the phenomenal work that has been done by Mr Curtis in this area.

Mr Quinn is equally passionate about the curriculum beyond the classroom and is as adept at coaching preparatory sport (cricket, rugby, soccer, waterpolo, hockey and athletics)  as he is at facilitating dramatics and public speaking. His fully-fledged participation in school life is a reflection of his belief that “A holistic, varied education where participation is fundamental is crucial in the life of every preparatory school pupil.”

Mr Quinn believes that service leadership is at the core of every good leader and constantly strives to nurture, maintain and grow healthy relationships with boys, staff and parents. He has a rich understanding and appreciation for the relational side of teaching in a boys' school.

As a Catholic, Mr Quinn fully appreciates and supports the rich ethos upon which our school is built and is excited at the prospect of contributing to our school by joining the St Benedict’s team. He is highly experienced, well respected and eminently capable of performing the role of Headmaster of our Preparatory School.

We welcome Mr Quinn and his family to the St Benedict's community and wish him an extended, happy and productive stay.
