Academics
at St Benedict’s College
Few schools can compare with St Benedict’s’ consistently outstanding matric results over many years. With its integrated approach towards academics, religion, sport and culture, the College has become increasingly well known for the exceptional calibre of its pupils – not only for their academic and sporting achievements but also for their integrity, dedication and leadership.
Subjects offered in the College
St Benedict’s offers a wide choice of subjects. Recent years have seen the introduction of Dramatic Arts and Music to complement the school’s traditional focus on Mathematics, Science and Information Technology.
The Niche Programme
Boys have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a special interest for a double period in a ten day cycle. The niche activities are facilitated by staff who have a passion in that particular area, and boys are free to choose from 20 niches in the College. These range from motor mechanics, to woodwork and Masterchef.

Sport At St Benedict’s College
The importance of participation in school sport is highly regarded at St Benedict’s College. We believe that our boys receive a richer education thanks to their involvement in the school’s sporting programme. Our belief of ‘a healthy mind in a healthy body’ has seen a move to complementing top academic facilities and academic endeavour with top sporting facilities, along with excellent coaching structures. Sport at St Benedict’s continues to make great strides and our competitive presence is felt across various sporting codes, at festivals and fixtures against schools across the country.
