Meet the Matrics | Aryan Ponkya 🎓
Aryan Ponkya joined Bennies in Grade 10 as a member of Mazenod House. His journey has taught him that success is built through consistency, discipline and finding what genuinely motivates you. Looking ahead, he hopes to stay grounded in the people who have supported him, honour the memory of those he has lost and continue learning from the mentors who believe in his potential.
One of Aryan’s fondest Bennies memories was his very first day at the College. From the moment he arrived, he experienced a strong sense of brotherhood and was welcomed by those around him as though he were already at home. That feeling of belonging became a meaningful part of his Bennies journey.
We wish Aryan all the very best for the remainder of his matric journey and the exciting future that awaits him. Once a Bennies boy, always a Bennies boy.

Homecoming Day is happening this Saturday, 3 October, and Mr Jeffrey is inviting all our Alumni to come back to St Benedict’s College for a day of reconnecting, reminiscing and celebrating the Bennies brotherhood.

Meet the Matrics | Uthandolwethu Tembe 🎓
Uthandolwethu Tembe joined Bennies in Grade 8 as a member of Allard House. His journey has been about learning to embrace who he is, trust his own abilities and never feel the need to fit into someone else’s idea of who he should be. Looking ahead, he hopes to remain true to himself, push through challenges and never lose sight of what he is working towards.
One of his fondest Bennies memories was beating St John’s College in an U16 rugby match on Burger Field. It was a memorable moment on the field and one that has stayed with him as a highlight of his Bennies journey.

Novena to St Thérèse 🌹
At a challenging time in our country, we come together as a Bennies community in prayer, asking God to bring peace, healing, protection and positive change, particularly for the women and girls of our country. Over these weeks, we have been invited to pray two nine day novenas, first to Padre Pio and now to St Thérèse of Lisieux, also known as the Little Flower.
A novena is simply nine days of prayer offered for a particular intention. Today, on Day 6 of our Novena to St Thérèse, we reflect on her deep trust in God and pray for the grace to trust more deeply, forgive, accept God’s will and see each day as an opportunity to love.
May our prayers bring comfort to those who are hurting and remind us of the power of coming together in faith. May St Thérèse intercede for our country, our communities, and especially for the women and girls who need our prayers and protection.
